Under the ongoing Indo-German bilateral cooperation project ‘SMART-SUT’, a study on ‘Creating Framework for Mobility as a Service in Indian Cities’ has been undertaken. The study aims to explore opportunities for implementing MaaS in Indian cities and identify a structured approach towards developing a smart mobility ecosystem which is required for developing such a solution by leveraging the real value of mobility data. The study outlines a stepwise approach and set of recommendations towards implementing a MaaS solution in Indian context.
An important component of this study was to develop a capacity building toolkit to assist the government officials, industry stakeholders, policymakers, consultants and academicians in understanding the challenges and opportunities associated with MaaS implementation in Indian cities. Accordingly, a web-based platform has been developed which would act as an open source knowledge resource and ready reckoner toolkit for all these stakeholders and government agencies planning to implement MaaS in their respective jurisdictions. The toolkit consists of downloadable materials, expert video recordings and other related resources.
